I can't believe I haven't posted a separate picture of Comet yet. Poor fella needs some love.

I actually wanted to have at least one online record of him as a pelt, since I'll be sending him out to get mounted later this year :D! His tail is my favorite part about him since he has a small white tip x3!

btw, he is HUGE! He competes in size for the wolf I own.

This pelt is solely for furthering of my studies about of natural world. I respect this pelt the same way I would respect a living creature.

Comet was not killed for their fur, art or sport. He was a wild coyote who died of natural causes.

I'm quite humbled to care for the remains this beautiful creature and I treat him with the highest respect. He is used as an invaluable art reference as well as an educational piece.

Ask questions before jumping to conclusions. I'll be happy to quell any fears about Comet.

Most of these pelts look a little too... perfect... to have died of natural causes in the wild. Are you 100% certain that he did, or are you getting this information from the person you bought it off?
Not that I overly care, I've just seen a lot of people claiming their fur died of natural causes when selling pelts it's clear they were farmed.
Not that I'm accusing you, just curious :)

I got the information from the seller. Comet died naturally and was found a few hours after he died, which is why he's in such great condition (but missing a bottom jaw due to decomposition). His death is still a mystery, but he wasn't shot or trapped. I think he was just ill :(.

Thats strange, I've picked up lots of road kill and they've never lost a bottom jaw first to decomposition. Anyway, he looks lovely! If only there were coyotes in Aus, I'd love to own a skin :)

Thank you :D! I've never seen a white tipped yote either, or rather I've never seen one that fades from black to white like Comet's tail does.

I have seen some with white tips before, but very rarely and they were out of my reach sadly.

I totally get ya. All of the rarer color mutations are almost always out of my price range or are snagged before I have the funds.

To be honest though, Comet was an extremely lucky get. I purchased a roadkill yote for about $80 and the seller took a while to ship out the pelt. They felt bad about how long it took to ship out the roadkill pelt so he sent me a nicer pelt, Comet, instead. I wouldn't have it any other way because Comet really is something special. Not because of his tail or colors, but because of how much I've really bonded with him. I know it sounds silly ^^;.
