Tale of the Black Glacier

Everybody say hello to Zhōuqí (周期)! I didn’t want to post pictures till I had a decent, if not tentative name, for him.

His name is Chinese for 'cycle' describing how a roundabout journey lead him to my home.

I’m a strong believer in fate, especially when it comes to purchasing animal pelts. I do not feel like I choose the pelts I purchase, they're the ones who choose me. When opportunity meets preparation is whenever I find myself purchasing a pelt. I simply cannot buy an animal if I don’t feel a connection with it or don’t have sufficient funds to pay it off promptly. I dislike being in debt, and I feel greedy and selfish if I purchase a pelt for the Hell of it. If it’s meant to be with me, it will find it’s way. That’s exactly what happened with Zhōuqí.

There is a female black coyote I’m currently on a payment plan for with *AdarkerNEMISIS. I wanted to get that coyote because she reminds me of my character Coal. Nemisis also had this coyote listed around the same time, and, frankly, I had a tough time choosing between them. I really felt attached to both, but picked the female.

Time went on, and the male coyote was sold. I was hoping that he had found a good home, but apparently that wasn’t the case. I’m fuzzy on the in-betweens, but the coyote was accidently sent to my address, and I received him today. Since he was revoked by his previous owner, I asked Nemisis if I could keep him. He agreed and now here he is

I see all these amazing stories about how people found their pelts and always wondered if I’d have that kind of experience. I guess that thought is not so farfetched now lol!

I don't have any plans for this guy. The black female coyote is the one I planned to get mounted. The coyote is not my totem so I don't feel the call to make him into a headdress. For now, he'll hang out on the wall with the rest of my pelts where my friends will proceed to asdfghjkl over him :3
