Taxidermy Collection - October 2012 by ShroudofShadows Taxidermy Collection - October 2012 by ShroudofShadows
Long post is long.

I keep ordering things I figured I may as well compile my current items while I can. Images 3, 4, 8, and 9 are from the listings. The rest are mine.

Kiwi and I went to my house last weekend to pickup some items I left at home. Now everything is (or will be) in our apartment. Some of these pictures display the actual setup.

First image is Jynx on her new throne. We never use those chairs so they are now reserved for soft mounts that we get made.

2-4 are my coyote pelts. You can't really tell in the second picture but first coyote, Hera, is a white tipped. The one next to her is a darker phase called Amsterdam. Picture three has a blonde coyote named Berlin who should arrive sometime this week. Picture four is Mel. She's a fully mountable coyote I'm purchasing from *AdarkerNEMISIS. As soon as my next check comes in, I'll have her paid off :)!! I'm getting her soft mounted at the end of this year or beginning of next year by ~midnightwolfdesigns.

Picture five are my fox wall hangers (In order from left to right): Germany, Dean, Sam, Chance and Claude.

Picture six are my skulls Constance (gray fox), Vladimir (red fox) and Hektor (coyote).

The last few images are parts. There's a vile of pre-ban polar bear fur, legally acquired goose feather hair clip I plan to put on my soft mount, spotted hyena fur scraps that I'll use in a project, and last are my two silver fox tails from a breeder, a coyote tail that was given to me, and the very first item I ever got for this collection. It's a red kangaroo hide I purchased almost eight years ago in Australia.

Information and FAQ

I will respect your opinions as long as you respect mine. If you bash, troll or ridicule honestly...I won't care. Your opinions will not change my views on taxidermy.

Thank you ! I love Claude's colors too. I really wish he was mountable because he'd make one epic life-size or soft mount.

He really would; he is gorgeous. It bums me out a bit when pelts like that aren't mountable- I came across the *perfect* cross fox pelt on ebay but it had very little lip skin and a bare spot on its face- none the less, the selling price ended up being over $300!

Very nice collection :D
legally acquired goose feathers? are they protected or something? I live on Long Island where they are pretty much taking over and when there's a dead one I usually grab a feather or 2.

Thank you :D!
I remember reading a really old law (1918) that doesn't allow one to keep migratory bird feathers for x,y, and z reasons unless they're commercial feathers or not on the species list of protected birds. I'm not sure if it's still an active law or one on just on the books but the feather are commercial either way.
